EMPI SVA DISTRIBUTOR

EMPI 00-9437-B is an Electronic All-in-One Vacuum Advance Distributor designed to be compatible with VW air-cooled engines. New EMPI SVA - Single Vacuum-Advance distributor with electronic ignition. The advance curve is set for optimal performance with most VW engines, and the electronic ignition conversion kit is already installed.

Please Note: Must be used with a coil that has an internal resistor (BOSCH BLUE COIL 9409-B) or an external ballast resistor must be used.

  • Type II: 1950-1979 Bus/Transporter
  • Type III - 1962-1973

  • Vanagon 1980-83, 2.0 liter (Except California model)

Additional Information

  • Single Vacuum Advance: Provides a smooth advance curve starting at 1,000 RPM and reaching a total of 18 degrees at 2,400 RPM with a 10-degree vacuum advance.
  • Electronic Ignition: Includes a magnetic pick-up with the amplifier attached to the distributor body for ease of installation.
  • Better Performance: Helps eliminate the "flat spot" on take-off, cools engine temperatures, and provides more power throughout the advance curve.
  • Compatibility: Fits Type I (Bug/Ghia 1946-1979), Type 181 (1973-1975 Thing), Type II (1950-1979 Bus/Transporter), Type III (1962-1973), Type IV (412) 1974, and Vanagon 1980-83 (2.0 liter except California model).
