One main bearing set for Volkswagen 1200cc (40hp), 1300cc, 1500cc and 1600cc air-cooled Type 1-based engines, including the corresponding Type 2 and Type 3 applications. Case bore: standard. Crankshaft journals: 0.25mm undersize (.010 in). Standard thrust.

Typical U.S. Applications With the Correct Engine: Beetle / Standard Beetle: 1961-1977; Super Beetle: 1971-1979; Karmann Ghia: 1961-1974; Type 2 Bus / Transporter: 1961-1971, with the 1200-1600cc Type 1-based engine; Type 3 Squareback / Notchback: 1962-1973, 1500-1600cc engines; Type 3 Fastback: 1966-1973, 1500-1600cc engines; Thing / Type 181: 1973-1974.

Not for early 25hp or 36hp engines, or 1700-2000cc Type 4 engines. Check the engine that's actually installed, then match the case bore, crankshaft undersize and thrust cut to this set. Rebuilt or replacement engines may need a different size from the original engine.
